JeffCo commission 'goes pink' for breast cancer

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC)- Although October is over, commissioners were greeted by a sea of people wearing pink T-shirts in support of breast cancer at the Jefferson County Commission chambers Wednesday morning.

County employees handed out the pink tees before the meeting began in honor of Commissioner Sandra Little Brown's breast cancer awareness proclamation.

Brown missed several meetings in October because she was in the hospital being treated for breast cancer. Her cancer was caught early, at stage one, and today she said she is completely cancer free.

Brown official proclaimed October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month for Jefferson County in today's meeting.
