In My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Pinkie Pie keeps a baby alligator named Gummy as a pet. Tiny and toothless, Gummy is pretty harmless and poses no threat to his owner as well as the other residents of Ponyville. He also has a penchant for biting into things, like balloons, ribbons, and sometimes Pinkie Pie?s legs. He is often seen staring into space, oblivious to his owner?s crazy antics and madcap reality-warping.
Adorable as the idea may seem, it might not be such a great idea keeping an infant alligator as an apartment pet.
Exotic pets are becoming more and more popular among young people. It is not unusual for animals like sugar gliders, rats, snakes, and scorpions to make an appearance in a pet conversation. However, are exotic pets ideal in an apartment setting?
Most exotic pets are quiet, and don?t need a lot of space to run around in. Insects, reptiles, and most small mammals are quiet when content. However, be mindful of certain animals? body clocks and habits. Sugar gliders may bark loudly when bored or in heat, and this may end up becoming bothersome to your neighbors. The same attention must be given to other exotic pets. Be on guard and make sure your exotic pets don?t break loose ? your neighbor might not be too happy finding a curious snake in the bath!
