ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed has announced plans to run for re-election in November.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/X5fIJp) reports Reed made the announcement Wednesday during the annual State of the City address.

During his speech, Reed also said he plans to offer a proposal to give raises to public employees within the next two months. He also pledged to connect every public school in the city to a central video command center to help emergency personnel react in the event of a school shooting or other incidents.

Reed also used the address to voice support for the proposal to build a new $1 billion stadium for the Atlanta Falcons.
