Indian E - commerce Scene To Rise Exponentially; Suggest A ...

Indian Ecommerce scene has been growing by leaps and bounds. A recent study by Google India supplements the fact that online shopping is going great guns in the Indian context. As an overview, the Indian market that exists on the internet saw a lot of big players entering it when the e-revolution hit it. ?Since then, a lot of Indian companies have set up businesses online and have served customers which are increasingly becoming comfortable with spending online. This augments the convenience of shopping and relaxes the prices. Less imports and more variety leads to increased customer satisfaction. ?As an example ?the kindle fire from Amazon is recently released in India and it has seen tremendous market response, as compared to the version that was imported form abroad.

The aforementioned study was carried out concerning product categories like books, beauty products, apparels, consumer electronics among a lot more. The participating agencies were Google search related data from 2011 and 2012 and TNS australia which conducted an online research which led to consolidation of data.

The study also undertook demographic studies which segregated the E-commerce?customers in to different age groups from 18 to 50 years of age from cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad & Pune. This is a relevant study as far as Indian?e-commerce?websites are concerned because there are a lot of website that do not ship to? a particular part of the country. This would also serve as a supplemented market study for businesses that are looking to expand.

Smartphone revolution has been partly responsible for this rise in E-commerce?scenario. Owners of smartphone devices have internet at the tip of their fingers. As mobile internet user base grows in India, mobile phones are also becoming a contributor in the surge for online shopping with Google witnessing 2X growth in number of queries from mobile phones in the year 2011 to 2012.

The report was compiled by combining data from Google Trends and online research conducted by TNS Australia with a sample size of 800 respondents on behalf of Google India in November 2012. One important part of the whole report is the study of specific niches created by some companies. Niche categories like baby products, home & furnishings and healthcare emerge as the fastest growing categories on Google search. Indian internet scene is going to grow as Google sets up its Asia servers and internet speeds rise in the subcontinent. The experience of shopping online is one that is lucrative and comforting.

With website beginning to be flexible and putting incredible amount of features at the foray, the customer is bound to be attracted to online shopping.
